Physical Therapy...
We have a full staff of Licensed Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants. Physical therapy is offered 6 days a week. Many residents receive therapy twice daily depending on the resident's needs and tolerance. Services provided include but are not limited to:
- Rehabilitative exercises
- Ambulation training
- Hydrotherapy
- Moist heat packs
- Ultrasound
- Family instruction
When a resident is returning home, we work to assist in overcoming obstacles in the home environment. We teach each resident and family member stair negotiation, transfer techniques, ambulation skills, and address any special circumstances involved in returning home.
Occupational Therapy...
Occupational Therapy evaluates and treats problems with activities of daily living including but not limited to:
- Eating
- Dressing
- Hygiene
- Bathing
- Homemaking
- Functional mobility improvement includes getting in and out of a chair or car and on and off a toilet
The purpose of the training provided is to help the resident become as independent as possible.
Home Evaluation - As part of the discharge planning process, The Occupational Therapist conducts a home evaluation including equipment recommendations which will help the resident maintain maximum independence in the home environment.
Speech Therapy...
A Licensed Speech Pathologist provides speech, language and swallowing diagnostics and therapeutic services. The Speech Pathologist evaluates the resident referred by the physician and develops a rehabilitation plan. The plan defines the type and frequency of therapy required to maximize the resident's recovery. Goals often include:
- Developing communication abilities that allow the resident to effectively communicate in his environment
- Improving swallowing efficiency to allow an oral diet
Respiratory Therapy...
Respiratory Services are provided to our residents when ordered by the physician. Our Respiratory Therapists are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Respiratory Services may be initiated at any time during a resident's stay and may include but are not limited to the following:
- Ventilator Care
- Tracheostomy Care
- Oxygen Therapy Monitoring
- Pulse Oximetry
Psychological Services...
Adjusting to the many life changes during a nursing home admission is never easy. Counseling services are available if ordered by the physician to assist with psycho-social adjustments. Some of the reasons a physician may order Psychological services include:
- Programs to eliminate the need for chemical or physical restraints
- Behavior problems
- Grief counseling
- Depression
- Conflict resolution
- Anxiety
Outpatient Services...
Autumn Hills offers outpatient Physical, Occupation and Speech therapy services geared to the senior population. Our newly expanded state-of-the-art therapy department offers the latest in rehabilitation technology and equipment. It includes a treadmill, Fluido bike, NuStep and various resistive exercise equipment. The team of licensed rehabilitation experts strive to assist patient in achieving their individual goals and treat a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal treatment and conditions as well post surgical cases. We offer flexible hours and free transportation to all patients within an 8 mile radius of the facility.
