4. Visit several prospective facilities.
5. Take a personal tour. Never make arrangements over the phone.
6. Ascertain payment sources available.
7. Bring the prospective resident, if possible, to tour the facility you select.
8. Visit with residents and families of the facility as you tour.
9. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Especially important is a review of any state reports which should be made available to you upon request.
